Brighton regained the Inter League One Day Division One event at the Burgess Hill CC on Sunday 27th February.
Going in as favourites they run out comfortable winners from defending champions Worthing.
Both teams started strongly in Series One with Worthing winning 14-7 and Brighton winning 15-6, before Worthing pulled away taking advantage of the break for their opponents by winning 15-6 in Series Two.
The big game came in Series Three and it quickly became very one sided with Brighton ending up winning 15-6 to put them in a commanding position.
Worthing kept in it when beating West Sussex 13-8 while Brighton struggled to a narrow 11-10 win against Redhill, and this left Brighton requiring seven points from their final game against Horsham. They easily achieved this in trashing the North Sussex team 17-4.
Nigel Senior was the top player on the day coming out of the ‘Group of Death’ with a maximum 12 points and averaging over 10k. Behind him Dave Ingram, Jim Millward, Lorin Clough, Matthew Knight and Mike Daw all got an impressive ten points. Matthew Knight got the highest score with 19,920 in his first leg of the day.
