Phil and Rob win the Doubles for First Time

The Sussex Doubles was won by Phil Osborne and Rob Hall who beat multiple Men’s Doubles winners Nigel Senior and Chris Tupper at the Burgess Hill Constitutional Club on Saturday 2nd April.

The event was being played for the second time as an Open competition involving all genders and 15 pairs entered. Phil had reached the Final when the event was last played in 2020 partnering Rob’s brother Kev, but the switch to the younger Hall helped both players to their first title.

The standard of play was high all day and plenty of big breaks and scores were recorded. Phil and Rob came though a tough draw beating Mike Daw and James Whittle, who went on to win the Plate, Dave & Kyle Ingram, Jim Millward and Mark James before defeating Nigel and Tupps in the Final.

As mentioned Mike and James won the Plate, with Mike in superb form, and they beat Tony Jenner and Rick Cunningham in the Plate Final.
