The final Series of the Inter League Home and Away season was played on Sunday 24th April.
There were three teams in contention for Division One going into the series but Brighton A who were top had the bye and a rearranged game between Tunbridge Wells and Redhill meant that the title was not certain to be decided.
Tunbridge Wells and Redhill A both had to win but only one of them could manage to do so.
The Kent side were home to Worthing A and the match went down to the deciding leg. The first two legs went with the break with wins for Richard Corbould and Joe Oakley before the next two went against the break with Bryan Stevens and Kevin Tunstall. Mike Daw put Worthing ahead for the first time in the fifth, but Curt Driver and Martin Russell won the last two to give Tunbridge Wells a crucial two points.
The Surrey side were away to Brighton B and could not come away with the points. The first five legs had gone with the break as the Brackenridge’s, Alan and Jean, won the first and fourth legs and Dave Jones, Colin Robbins and John Slee winning for the visitors. The big leg came in the sixth with Geoff Jukes going on the break against Stuart Carruthers, Geoff started well getting to 4.5k but a miss let Stuart in and he made a 8.5k. This left Marcus Chipman to seal the win for Brighton B for the second time this season against Redhill A.
These results mean the title goes down to the rearranged match between Tunbridge Wells and Redhill A on Sunday 8th May.
In Division Two Littlehampton needed two legs at home to Lewes to win Division Two and they took it down to the wire. The first two legs went against the break with wins for Huw Lincoln for Lewes and Bill Harrison for Littlehampton. The hosts then took the next four with Richard Todd, Colin Southouse, Dave Knight and Chase Newman all winning; which gave Lewes the match win. This took it to the last chance for Littlehampton but the ever reliable Dave Hampton took his chances to give Littlehampton the second leg they needed.
In the other match in the division Redhill B won 6-1 at home to Mid Sussex. Martin Pellett, Alex Hornby, Martin Greenway, Mark Fraser, Jim Balchin and Michael Wilson won for the hosts and Derek Taylor got the consolation leg for the visitors.
