Inter League 2024/25 Series Nine Round-Up

Redhill A beat leaders Worthing A 4-3 at home to ensure a grandstand finish for Division One in the last series.

The first four legs all went with the breaks to leave the match level at 2-2 with Geoff Jukes and Ricky Dewdney winning for the home side and Joe Oakley and Kevin Tunstall getting it done for the visitors.

Mike Daw won the fifth leg to put Worthing in front before the key leg in the sixth which Colin Robbins took against the break to set-up the decider.

Dave Constable made a slow and steady 7k break before touching-up with what seemed like enough, but Stuart Carruthers gave it a go and got to within 200 to leave the last ball for an unlikely victory. However, he missed which allowed DC to seal the win.

Brighton A moved second in the table on legs won after a big 6-1 win away at Tunbridge Wells.

Despite many finding the table tricky the visitors raced into an early lead with Rob Hall winning against the break and Nigel Senior and Kevin Hall winning with the break. The away team continued to take advantage of their chances and Jim Millward won the fourth and then Phil Osborne and Matthew Knight put them 6-0 up.

Paul Sainsbury went in with enough in the opening break of the last leg to take a consolation for Tunbridge Wells.

The three leading teams are now level on points at the top of the table with only one leg separating the three teams.

In the third match in the Division West Sussex ran out comfortable 5-2 winners at home to bottom side Worthing B.

Ian Cross, Trevor Fitzwilliam, Daniel Wheal, Chris Cox and Martin Cole were successful for the hosts with Roger Taylor and Dave Jones taking the legs for Worthing B.

Division Two has produced close matches all season and Brighton B versus Lewes was no exception with the visitors eventually winner 4-3.

Lewes got off to a fast start with Ric and Jan Bithell putting them 2-0. Steve Burns pulled one back but Colin Southouse hit the highest score of the evening to restore the visitors two leg lead. DJ Robins and Mark Scott won to force the decider in which Dave Knight of Lewes edged a low scoring leg.

Redhill B against Mid Sussex was postponed.
