Inter League 2022/23 Series Six Round-Up

A top of the table clash in Division One saw Redhill A host Tunbridge Wells and the hosts continued their good home record with a 6-1 win.

As usual Geoff Jukes led the way for the home team and as usual he started with a win. Things got better for Redhill when Denise Wills won the second but the visitors fought back from Pete Sainsbury. That proved to the high point for Tunbridge Wells as Redhill dominated the rest of the match with Dave Jones, Gary Powell, Colin Robbins and Dave Constable all winning.

In the other match in Division One Brighton A got revenge on their B team with a 6-1, although the match was closer than the scoreline suggests. Alan Brackenridge continued his good record with an opening win for the B’s but it was the visitors all the way after that with Matt Knight, Phil Osborne, Kevin Hall, Jim Millward, Chris Tupper and Nigel Senior all victorious.

In Division Two West Sussex continued their march towards the title with a 5-2 win away at Worthing B. The visitors won the first three legs with Daniel Wheal, Barry Holt and Kevin Charlton all scoring well. Roger Taylor spotted the rot for Worthing B but it was shorted lived as Martin Cole and Chris Cox both got big breaks. Tony Jenner got the consolation leg for the hosts.

Redhill B kept close behind West Sussex with a solid 5-2 win at Lewes. Ric Bithell took the opener but Redhill got the four legs needed for the win in quick succession with Mark Fraser, Martin Pellett, Tom Pearse and Martin Greenway winner. The last two legs were shared by Chase Newman (Lewes) and Alex Hornby (Redhill B).

The same scoreline as the other two games in Division Two saw Mid Sussex achieved a good win away at Littlehampton to move off the bottom of the table. The first two legs went against the break with Andy Farmer-Wright for the visitors and Chris Lawman for the hosts getting the wins. Mid Sussex took control with Ros Appleby and Ian Giffen but Steve Beach fought back for Littlehampton. Mick Kirwan sealed the points for the away side before Paul Jobbins added the extra leg.
