Worthing A got their season off to the perfect start by beating their ‘B’ team 7-0 at the Henty.
The visitors struggled to get going and were given no respite from the home team with Stuart Mepham, Terry Molloy, Stuart Carruthers, Mike Daw, Kevin Tunstall, Joe Oakley and Martin Smith all winning.
Redhill A are normally strong at home but suffered a rare defeat the the Merstham against Tunbridge Wells.
Bryan Stevens won the opener against the break and the Kent side were two up with Curt Driver winning. Redhill levelled the tie with Tony Cross and Geoff Jukes with comfortable wins. Pete Sainsbury then won for Tunbridge Wells but his brother Paul couldn’t seal the match as Colin Robbins fought back to beat him.
However the visitors took their second chance to win the match when Ian Wright beat Denise Wills.
Brighton A versus West Sussex was postponed.
In Division Two Littlehampton won away at Lewes 4-3. The winners for the visitors were Colin Green, Dave Lee, Kayleigh Tizzard and Steve Beach. For Lewes Ric Bithell, Colin Southouse and Alec Pope won.
Brighton B against Redhill B was postponed.
