Inter League 2024/25 Series Three Round-Up

Worthing A retained their unbeaten record after a comeback 4-3 win against defending champions Brighton A at the Henty.

The home team got off to a terrible start with Stuart Mepham pegging his first split and Kevin Hall making enough first visit. The visitors continued to apply the pressure and went 3-0 up with wins for Matthew Knight and Nigel Senior.

In the fourth Mike Daw was another home player off early but this time Worthing were given a let off with Mike able to battle back for the win. This proved the turning point of the match as Martin Smith and Terry Molloy both took their chances against the break and Stuart Carruthers won the decider to complete the comeback.

Redhill A kept the pressure on the at the top of the league with an away 5-2 win at Worthing B.

Rick Cunningham got the home team off to a good start but Michael Wilson and Geoff Jukes put the visitors in front. Gary Powell then won against the break to increase Redhill’s lead and Dave Jones of Redhill beat Dave Jones of Worthing to complete the win. The last two legs were shared with wins for Ricky Dewdney (Redhill) and James Whittle (Worthing).

West Sussex recorded their first win of the season with a 5-2 victory at Tunbridge Wells.

The first six legs all went with the break with Gerry Fitzjohn and Richard Corbould getting the points for the hosts and Daniel Wheal, Ian Cross, Chris Cox and Martin Cole securing the win for the away team. Barry Holt then added the final leg.

Littlehampton are two points clear at the top of Division Two with a 4-3 win at Brighton B. All the legs went with the break with DJ Robins, Steve Burns and Paul Bramhall winning for the home team and Eric Hampton, Dave Stone, Steve Beach and Chris Lawman for the visitors.

Lewes moved second with a 4-3 win against Mid Sussex at the Hassocks. Barry West, Paul Jobbins, Mick Kirwan (all Mid Sussex), Huw Lincoln, Colin Southouse, Chase Newman and Alec Pope (all Lewes) were the winning players.
