At the recent Sussex AGM a discussion was held around the future of Inter League with two proposals around how to conclude last season (2019/20) and what should happen to the upcoming season (2020/21). The general opinion was that last season should be ended and we should look to start a new season where possible, while acknowledging that this probably would not be in the short term.
The committee agreed to take this away to make a final decision. I can now confirm that the 2019/20 Inter League Home and Away season has been concluded and league positions have been decided based on the current table.
Congratulations to Brighton A, Worthing B and Lewes who are confirmed as the three league winners.
Since the AGM COVID-19 infections have started to rise again and government guidance and restrictions have changed; these further restrict the return to playing a seven-a-side Inter League match. At this stage there are no plans to start a new season but a season under a reduced or different format is still possible depending on how the virus and restrictions progress over winter.
