Sussex A lost out narrowly in Kent during a tense final series of matches at the County Championship on Sunday 10th September at the Totteridge Club.
Going into the last round of matches Kent, Surrey and Sussex A were all level on points. The former two were playing each other while Sussex A while taking on Oxon A. Kent beat Surrey 4-3 to move them onto 21 points but Sussex A suffered a 4-3 defeat to leave them a point behind on 20.
Sussex B finished fifth and avoided relegation by beating Bucks 4-3 in the last series to move them one point ahead of the High Wycombe based team.
