World Number One Mark Trafford from Oxford was in superb form as he took the Sussex Open title at the Roffey Sports and Social Club on Sunday 12th June.
Mark beat Sussex’s Kevin Tunstall in the Final after KT faultered on just under 9k chasing Mark’s table play-out in the first leg of 22,220. That was Mark’s third 20k break of the day including the day’s highest of 23,280.
KT struggled in his opening win against Kyle Ingram but improved as the day went on to beat Rick Cunningham, Matt Jones, Matthew Knight and Nigel Senior to reach the Final.
Alongside Knight and Senior, Stuart Mepham also reached the latter stages before losing to Trafford in the Quarter-Finals.
Sussex also supplied the Plate winner with Paul Jobbins winning a first National title beating Surrey’s Mark Fraser in the Final.
