Nigel goes furthest in Jersey

Nigel Senior was the furthest progressing Sussex player at the World Championships which were played at the Merton Hotel in St Helier, Jersey on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th November.

The Brighton star played well to reach the semi-finals but was beaten at that stage by doubles partner Trevor Gallienne of Guernsey.

In the Final Buckinghamshire’s Matt Jones beat Trevor to win the trophy for the second time.

Kevin Tunstall made the quarter-finals and Phil Osborne reached the Last 16.

In the Plate both Jean Brackenridge and Paul Barnett were knocked out in the semi-finals.
