Nigel Senior followed his success in the Sussex Masters the day before by winning the Sussex Open on Sunday 2nd June at the Roffey Club in Horsham.
It was a second Open of the year for Nigel, who won the Oxon Open in February, and continued his brilliant 2019, which was also included a National 4-Pin title.
Nigel beat fellow Sussex player Gareth Lloyd in the Final. After losing the toss Nigel was put in first and played the table out, minus the last ball, for a lead of 19,260. Gareth was on time when chasing in reply but left a one-up short at 10,160, and immediately conceded.
Jim Greensted, Martin Smith and surprise package Paul Jobbins all made the quarter-finals.
The plate final was also an all Sussex affair with Chris Cox beating Alan Brackenridge.
Michelle Baden received the trophy for the highest Ladies break with a break of 5960.
