Sussex B finished runners-up in the County Championship Division One which was played at the Totteridge Club in Wycombe on Sunday 14th September.
This was the fourth time in the last seven years that the B’s have finished in the top two and the second time ever they have done better than the A team.
Surrey won the title for the first time with 33 points, with Sussex B second on 30, Kent third on 28 points, Sussex A were fourth on 27 points with Surrey B bottom on 22.
The match between Sussex A and B ended as a 7-7 draw.
The B team were – Stuart Carruthers (6 wins from 8 legs), Mike Daw (6), Chris Cox (5), Jack Baden (4), Kevin Hall (3 but with the highest average of 9.128), Tony Jenner (3) and Martin Smith (3).
The A team were – Nigel Senior (6), Matthew Knight (5), Kevin Tunstall (4), Martin Cole (4), Phil Osborne (4), Rob Hall (3) and Joe Oakley (1)
